Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise
Synchron installs, configures and supports Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) OXO Connect and OmniPCX Enterprise communication servers and OmniSwitch switch series. It maintains existing Alcatel 4400 systems and plans the migration to OmniPCX Enterprise.
Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, our solution partner
Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) makes business communication and networking products. ALE is a solution partner of Synchron. Synchron uses ALE communication servers and OmniSwitch switch series in its projects. It installs, configures and maintains these products.
ALE products we use
OXO Connect
A communication server for small and medium businesses. It serves companies with 5 to 300 users. Its former name is OmniPCX Office RCE. It supports wired and wireless phones and DECT and SIP-DECT connectivity.
OmniPCX Enterprise (OXE Purple)
A communication server for large and multi-site companies. It scales up to 100,000 users. It is SIP-based and gives high availability with a redundant architecture and automatic failover.
Alcatel OmniPCX 4400
The previous generation of the business communication server. Synchron maintains existing 4400 systems and plans the migration to OmniPCX Enterprise.
OmniSwitch access, distribution and core series
They connect users, IP phones and access points to the network in campus and branch networks. In the core layer, they give a high-capacity backbone.
ALE product family
ALE also makes other communication and networking products. Examples:
- Rainbow: a cloud-based messaging, video meeting and collaboration app. It works with OXO Connect and OmniPCX Enterprise.
- ALE desk and DECT phones: business phones that work with ALE communication servers.
ALE networking products
ALE makes switches, wireless access points and network management products for campus, branch and data center networks. The networking products we use in our projects:
OmniSwitch access series
The OmniSwitch 6360, 6560(E), 6570M and 6870. They connect users, IP phones and access points to the network. The OmniSwitch 6560 gives multi-gigabit (2.5G/5G) ports and 60 W PoE per port.
OmniSwitch campus core and data center series
The OmniSwitch 6860(E/N), 6900 and 9900. The OmniSwitch 6860 supports the SPB network fabric. The OmniSwitch 9900 is a modular chassis.
OmniSwitch industrial series
The OmniSwitch 6465, 6575 and 6865. Fanless, hardened models that work in a wide temperature range.
OmniAccess Stellar WLAN
Indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi access points. There are Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 models. Examples: the AP1301 (Wi-Fi 6), the AP1431 (Wi-Fi 6E), the AP1501 and AP1521 (Wi-Fi 7) and the AP1561 for outdoor use.
OmniVista management
OmniVista Cirrus is a cloud-based network management service. The OmniVista Network Management System gives network visibility for campus and data center networks. OmniVista Network Advisor finds network issues with AI. OmniVista Smart Tool configures and troubleshoots OmniSwitch devices without a server.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between OXO Connect and OmniPCX Enterprise?
OXO Connect is designed for small and medium businesses and serves up to 300 users. OmniPCX Enterprise is for large and multi-site companies and scales up to 100,000 users. Synchron selects the system by user count, site structure and availability needs.
Do you support our existing Alcatel 4400 system?
Yes. Synchron does the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing 4400 systems. For a migration, Synchron first examines the current system: the extension plan, the trunk connections, the phones and the integrations. Then it prepares the migration plan to OmniPCX Enterprise. Before the migration, it checks which phones and hardware stay in use.
How do you select the OmniSwitch model?
Synchron selects the model by the network layer: access, distribution or core. The port count, the PoE need and the uplink capacity determine the choice.
How do the communication server and the switch infrastructure work together?
IP phones connect to the communication server through the switches. Synchron configures a separate VLAN and prioritization (QoS) for voice traffic. PoE switch models supply power to the phones through the cable. This setup protects voice quality from network load.
What is the difference between ALE and Grandstream?
Synchron uses both brands. ALE OmniPCX Enterprise is designed for large companies with multiple sites and high availability needs. In a company with an existing Alcatel infrastructure, ALE products protect this investment. Grandstream UCM systems are SIP-based and scale up to 3,000 users. Synchron makes the choice by the existing infrastructure, the user count and the needs.
Do you give support after the ALE installation?
Yes. Synchron gives software updates, configuration changes and on-site troubleshooting within Wired and Wireless Network Management and Field Support Services.
