Electronic signature with Acrobat Sign
Acrobat Sign sends documents such as contracts, approval forms and HR documents for electronic signature. The signer signs the document in a web browser. The sender tracks the signing process step by step.
Audit report
Acrobat Sign makes an audit report (audit trail) for each signed document. The report shows the signer's email address, timestamps and the actions taken. If the admin turns on IP address capture at account or group level, the report also shows IP information.
Cloud-based digital signature
Acrobat Sign supports certificate-based digital signatures with trust service providers on the Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL) and the EU Trusted Lists (EUTL).
Microsoft 365 integration
Users send documents for signature and track their status from Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint. With Power Automate, the signing process runs automatically.
Acrobat Sign and KVKK and GDPR
Acrobat Sign is a cloud service that processes personal data. Under GDPR, Adobe acts as the data processor of the customer. The features below support KVKK and GDPR measures:
Data center choice
The company selects the Acrobat Sign data center during deployment. The European region has two options: EU1 (primary Frankfurt, Germany; secondary Dublin, Ireland) and EU2 (primary Amsterdam, the Netherlands; secondary Dublin, Ireland).
Access management
The administrator manages users and their access centrally in the Admin Console.
Audit trail
The audit report keeps a record of each action in the signing process together with the document.
Data deletion
The privacy administrator (Privacy Admin) deletes the personal data of a user or a signer and the related agreements. This function answers the deletion request of the data subject.
Türkiye is not among the Acrobat Sign data centers that Adobe lists. For this reason, the provisions of Article 9 of KVKK (the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law) on transfers abroad apply. The company makes this assessment as the data controller. Synchron configures the data center choice and the access settings according to this assessment.
Legal status of electronic signatures in Türkiye
The Turkish Electronic Signature Law No. 5070 separates the electronic signature from the secure electronic signature. A secure electronic signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature. A secure electronic signature needs a qualified electronic certificate from an electronic certificate service provider (ESHS) that operates in Türkiye. Legal transactions that the law makes subject to an official form or a special procedure, and guarantee agreements, cannot be done with a secure electronic signature either.
A standard electronic signature made with Acrobat Sign is not a secure electronic signature under this law. It is not equal to a handwritten signature; in a dispute, it can be submitted as evidence together with the audit report. Acrobat Sign works with external trust service providers for cloud-based digital signatures. For document types that need a secure electronic signature, Synchron checks this support before the project against Adobe's current provider list and with the company's legal department.
In the European Union, the eIDAS regulation defines electronic signatures, advanced electronic signatures and qualified electronic signatures. For Acrobat Sign, Adobe supports cloud-based digital signatures with providers on the EU Trusted Lists.

Is a signature made with Acrobat Sign valid in Türkiye?
A standard electronic signature made with Acrobat Sign is not a secure electronic signature under Law No. 5070. For this reason, it does not have the legal effect of a handwritten signature; it can be submitted as evidence together with the audit report. When the law requires a secure electronic signature, a qualified electronic certificate from an ESHS that operates in Türkiye is necessary. Transactions subject to an official form and guarantee agreements cannot be done with an electronic signature. Ask your legal department for a decision by document type.
How does Acrobat Sign help with KVKK compliance?
Acrobat Sign gives an audit report, access management, data center choice and personal data deletion. These functions are part of the technical measures. One product does not give KVKK compliance; technical and organizational measures, including the rules for transfers abroad, must work together.
In which country are the documents stored?
The company selects the Acrobat Sign data center during deployment. In the European region, the primary data centers are in Germany (Frankfurt) and the Netherlands (Amsterdam); the secondary data center is in Ireland (Dublin). The other regions are North America, Japan, India, Singapore and Australia.
How is a GDPR deletion request handled?
The privacy administrator of the Acrobat Sign account finds the related agreements by the signer's email address and deletes them. The deletion becomes permanent after a holding period. As the data processor, Adobe does not delete an agreement at the direct request of a signer; the company that sent the document handles the request.
Does Acrobat Sign work with Microsoft 365?
Yes. Acrobat Sign works with Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint. The administrator deploys the Microsoft 365 add-ins for all users at the tenant level. Power Automate and Dynamics 365 integrations are also available.
Who manages the Adobe licenses?
The company manages its licenses in the Adobe Admin Console. Synchron does the Admin Console setup, the user assignment and the license renewal tracking for the company.
